..to trade him from the Angels? It’s been time for awhile but the beginning of this season they had promise. The betting odds had them within contention due to trades and beefing up the bullpen. Just hasn’t panned out. Look at Pujos how his career would have died out gracefully if the Angels kept him. He’s revived with the Cardinals, running actually faster than with the Angels I swear, and having the kind of season you want to see a champion go out on with the Cardinals.

Trout;

A great player like this, for one, needs to get the fuck outta California. Phillies is the go to but what would be another place he could revive and make an impact?

Would the Yankees take him? Is he affordable? How does this work.

For the money Trout makes he's too injury prone.
Definitely will be figured in the negotiation contract. Risk vs Reward going up against where he’d be happy has a lot going into it for sure.

After this season I think the Angels are ready to part ways from forming a team around Trout after the past decade it seems. It’ll be a mutual decision.

There will be no negotiation of contract

In 2019 he signed a 12 year / $426,500,000 contract fully guaranteed

Then he's an Angel for life

Or he agrees to take less to play for a contender

Or the Angels eat some of his salary and move on with youth

Contracts can be dissolved. Trout’s Lawyers, agents, and any team that’s interested can always strike a deal as long as all parties are willing.

Why would trout want to dissolve the most lucrative contract in baseball history ? Lol

There has never ever been a dissolved contract in baseball lol

Let's put it another way. Trout isn't now and never was worthy of such a contract.

Injuries happen to most players. Some like Trout seems to be are injury prone. That's why such a steep, long term contract should never be handed out. Now both the organization and the fans get cheated.

Easy. A team can buy out the contract. It dissolves the old contract into a new contract with the same terms with the new team. If that happens, old contract is dissolved and new contract is formed. Basically old contract rolls over.

In sports, everyone is for sale. No matter the contract.

To play for a contender. Not saying he will, not even saying it's been discussed, just saying that's certainly plausible

This contract or another, he's getting paid hundreds of millions. The man and his descendants will never be hurting for money. That's guaranteed

so a team is going to buy out the largest contract in baseball history just because .

Hey Mike . We decided to pay you your 460 million dollars just because you are a nice guy and we don’t like money .
Lol

The only time in baseball that a player ever rips up a contract is if the team wants to give him even more money then his current contract .

Just a little FYI . There is no team that will be willing to play him 460 million .

And no , trout is not going to take less money to play for a winner .

I don't even follow baseball but you can't restructure deals I am pretty sure. When the Red Sox were in on dealing for A-Rod in the winter of 2003, the MLBPA said any restructuring is a no go.

The Angels could pay a % of his deal to the team receiving him though.

Either way, its baseball I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Why would he want out of $460 million?
He wouldn’t be. I don’t think his bank account is going to be experiencing any disruption if another team absorbed the rest of his contract, essentially. This off-season I’m sure we’ll see rumors of possible Mike Trout trade.

The practice of restructuring contracts is not as prevalent in baseball as it is in the NFL or NBA. But Dempster is one of a group of veterans who has agreed to re-work his deal in order to improve his club’s payroll flexibility or in exchange for a contract extension or additional perks.

--------------------------------------------------

Again, I'm just suggesting it's plausible. the nuances of the truth are rarely found scratching the surface

And no, I do not have any inside sources :)

But in a light hearted discussion, if Trout were to agree or request a trade, what team could use a player like him. That was the point starting this thread. Wasn’t meant to be taken as if he was going to be traded. It’s definitely possible and it can be done. Just sayin’ that’s all.
